Indigenous Employment & Pathways
Building Careers, Not Just Creating Jobs
At Woollahra Group, Indigenous employment is a long-term commitment to opportunity, development and career progression.
As a 100% Indigenous-owned Australian business, we create practical pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, procurement, customer service, commercial operations and leadership.
Today, 28% of our workforce identifies as Indigenous. Our focus extends beyond recruitment—we aim to create culturally safe, supportive workplaces where people can build confidence, develop recognised skills and establish meaningful careers.
Pathways from Education to Employment
We work to remove the barriers that can make the transition from education into employment difficult.
Depending on the individual and available opportunities, a Woollahra pathway may include:
-
School-based work experience
-
Structured workplace learning
-
School-based traineeships
-
Traineeships for recent school leavers
-
Practical workplace mentoring
-
Accredited training and skills development
-
Exposure to manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and business operations
-
Opportunities to progress into ongoing employment
Every pathway is designed around the individual, with practical support, genuine workplace experience and clear expectations.
Are You a Student or Recent School Leaver?
If you are an Indigenous student between Year 10 and three years after completing high school, we would like to hear from you.
You do not need to have your entire career planned. We are interested in meeting young people who are willing to learn, contribute to a team and explore the opportunities available across our business.
Contact us to discuss work experience, traineeships, workplace learning or potential employment pathways.
Are You a School or Education Provider?
If you represent a school, training organisation or youth-support service seeking a workplace opportunity for an Indigenous student, please contact our team.
We welcome conversations about:
-
School-based traineeship placements
-
Structured workplace learning
-
Work-experience opportunities
-
Student mentoring
-
Industry exposure
-
Transition-to-employment support
We will work with you to understand the student’s interests, readiness and support requirements, and determine whether an appropriate opportunity is available.
Creating Long-Term Opportunity
Our goal is not to fill short-term participation targets. It is to help people build capability, confidence and independence through genuine employment experience.
By investing in traineeships, mentoring, cultural safety and career development, Woollahra Group is helping create stronger pathways for the next generation of Indigenous employees and leaders.
