Woollahra & Surekleen Chemicals proudly paused operations this week to come together and celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025—a time to reflect, connect, and honour the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year’s celebration was particularly special, aligning with the NAIDOC theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”
A Meaningful Welcome on Whadjuk Boodjar
Our team gathered in Mandjanup (Midland) on Whadjuk Boodjar, where we were honoured to be welcomed by Uncle John Mogridge with a traditional smoking ceremony.
This powerful cultural experience set the tone for the day—grounding us in respect, reflection, and connection to Country.

Celebrating Indigenous Art and Culture
We were privileged to spend time at the Birli Gallery, a 100% Indigenous-owned art space led by Jeffrey and Brooke Anne Farrell.
Surrounded by incredible works of art, the team experienced a live painting by talented artist Iesha Wyatt, whose piece captured the spirit of the day as it unfolded.
The experience was complemented by exceptional local cuisine from Gather Foods, showcasing the richness and diversity of Indigenous food culture.

The Next Generation in Focus
The highlight of the day came from within our own Woollahra team.
Our two newest Indigenous trainees, Jarome and Dante, took part in a panel discussion—sharing their journeys, what they’ve learned since joining Woollahra, and their aspirations for the future.
Less than 12 months out of high school, their confidence, honesty, and vision left a lasting impression on everyone in the room.
Their stories are a powerful reminder of why initiatives like the Woollahra Traineeship Program exist: to create real pathways, real opportunities, and real futures.

Living the NAIDOC Theme
This year’s theme—Strength, Vision & Legacy—was brought to life through every part of the day.
From cultural connection and artistic expression to the voices of our young leaders, the event reflected the importance of investing in the next generation and supporting them to thrive.
Giving Back
To mark the occasion, Iesha Wyatt’s artwork will be auctioned, with all proceeds going towards an important milestone for our trainees—helping Jarome and Dante purchase their first cars.
It’s a small but meaningful way to support their independence and continued growth.
Looking Ahead
We extend our sincere thanks to all of our partners and guests who joined us to celebrate NAIDOC Week.
Days like this reinforce what Woollahra stands for: community, opportunity, and impact.
At Woollahra, we are committed to building a legacy that empowers the next generation—because their future is our future.
