Supporting the Next Generation: Woollahra at the AISWA Leaders Conference

Woollahra was proud to attend the AISWA (Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia) Leaders Conference at Optus Stadium this week—an inspiring event bringing together educators and leaders committed to shaping the future of young Western Australians.

For us, it was more than just an event. It was an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to one of the most important challenges facing our country: closing the gap in Indigenous high school completion rates.

Creating Real Career Pathways

At Woollahra, we believe that education must connect directly to opportunity.

Our Woollahra Traineeship Program is designed to do exactly that—providing Indigenous students with real, hands-on career pathways while they complete their schooling.

Over the past year, we’ve seen firsthand the impact this approach can have:

  • Two Year 12 students from Clarkson Community High School joined Woollahra during their final semester
  • Both transitioned into full-time employment and fully paid traineeships
  • We currently have a Year 11 student undertaking a two-year traineeship while completing school

These outcomes are not just statistics—they represent real futures being shaped, real confidence being built, and real opportunities being created.

A Commitment to Long-Term Impact

Woollahra’s approach is simple: create opportunities that last.

Our traineeship program is not a one-off initiative—it is a long-term commitment to supporting Indigenous youth as they transition from education into meaningful careers. As we continue to grow, we are focused on expanding this program to reach more students and communities across Western Australia.

Because when young people are given the right support, exposure, and pathways, the outcomes can be life-changing.

Partnering for Greater Impact

A key highlight of the conference was the opportunity to support the Future Footprints program—an initiative dedicated to helping Indigenous students across WA access the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to succeed.

This aligns closely with Woollahra’s purpose-driven model: working alongside schools, educators, and organisations to ensure Indigenous students are not only completing school—but stepping confidently into their futures.

Looking Ahead

We were grateful to connect with a number of schools at the conference who showed strong interest in what Woollahra is building.

These conversations are just the beginning.

We look forward to continuing those discussions and building partnerships that create clear, achievable pathways from school into employment for Indigenous students.

At Woollahra, we believe the future is built through opportunity—and we are committed to playing our part in creating it.
